The honest truth is that there are not a lot of careers in the fine arts where one can make a lot of money. In the fine arts you are pretty much limited to museums and teaching. And, because of No Child Left Behind, it is increasingly difficult to find jobs in education. However, this is not the case for the for commercial art, animation, and other areas. So, there is hope.
